Operations Guide 3.1 Introduction

Operations guide is a document for Hosting Providers created with the purpose to describe the workflow of operations process. There are two parties involved in this process:

  1. Hosting Provider
  2. Jelastic Operations Team

Major maintenance activities are listed in the table below. Most of the activities can be applied to a user hardware node, an infrastructure hardware node or an infrastructure container and can be performed by a Hosting Provider. For others, we recommend to contact Jelastic Operations (via Jelastic Support) for a proper maintenance.

Note: After performing ANY maintance activities with the cluster hardware and/or networks settings, a Hosting Provider have to contact the Jelastic Operations team for validating the made changes.

Activities marked as Hosting Provider are supplied with instructions which are provided in a corresponding section of this document.

Comments to the table:
User hardware node - hardware node with user containers;
Infrastructure hardware node - hardware node with Jelastic infrastructure containers and other infrastructure elements, like templates;
Infrastructure container - container with a component of Jelastic infrastructure;
Hosting Provider - Hosting Provider can perform this activity according to instructions provided down below;
Jelastic Operations - Jelastic Operations Team should be contacted to perform this action; Hosting Provider can reach Jelastic Operation Team via Jelastic Support;

N/A - this activity is not applicable to this type of infrastructure element.

NOTE
  • If you plan to perform any maintenance that is not listed in this table, and you are not sure about the effect it might cause to the product, please contact Jelastic Support to confirm that planned activities are safe to execute. Please, wait for the confirmation from Jelastic Support, as some changes might cause application downtime or severe performance degradation.
  • Any configurations not described in this guide will be overwritten during the update.
  • The provided changes made don't block access for Jelastic Support personnel and won't interfere normal inter-cluster operations (migrations, backups, etc.).
